Recapturing a bit of the elegance of classic portraiture.

Digital captures allow for nearly endless experimental possibilities with a distinct look. I shoot a Fujifilm X-T4, catalog my shots in Capture One, and edit them in Affinity Photo and Exposure Software.

B&W Film

Although more modern films (particularly in the years right up to the digital revolution in the early 2000s) were capable of extraordinary detail and tonality with very little grain, the “film look” for many remains the somewhat grainy and contrasty look of films like Kodak Tri-X and Ilford HP5. Thankfully, these are still around, and I shoot them primarily in 120 or “medium format.”
